Institution:
Hasbro Children's Hospital

Principal Investigator:
Thomas Chun, MD

Title:
San Francisco-Oakland, Providence, Atlanta Research Collaborative

Goals and Objectives:

  • Organizational Infrastructure: rapidly build and maintain a strong, high functioning PECARN node, capable of performing excellent clinical research and contributing to all network activities.
  • Contribute to EMSC Research: conduct high quality, high impact pediatric emergency medicine research, across the spectrum of EMSC projects and settings.
  • Develop New PECARN Research Projects: across EMSC research of high impact/low incidence conditions, incorporating the EMSA into all of the node's research processes, and especially building on the SPARC PIs' strengths and research expertise - underrepresented research topics, e.g. sickle cell disease (Emory), behavioral health (UCSF) and substance use (Brown) disorders.
  • PECARN Registry and Data Linkage: contribute to PECARN's current and future electronic data registry and linkage projects.
  • Knowledge Translation: SPARC will be a leader in dissemination and knowledge transfer, leveraging existing, successful methods and relationships.
  • Advance Early Stage Investigators: SPARC will foster the development of early stage investigators, both within the node and the PECARN network.
