Submission Requirements & Guidelines

Contents of concept submission should include the following:

Cover Page

The cover page for the concept submission should include:

• Institution of the principal investigator
• Investigator's: address, telephone, fax, and e-mail address
• Attestation that the concept has been reviewed and endorsed by the submitting node
• Where the investigator plans to submit the project for funding

Concept Section

The concept proposal should follow the face sheet and cover page. (Note: single spaced text using 12 point standard type and one-inch margins) The Concept Proposal is limited to two pages and should address the following:

1. Why the proposed topic is important to PECARN (please refer to PECARN research priorities)
2. Description of why the study requires a network and why PECARN is an appropriate body to study the proposed topic
3. A brief background on the topic
4. Specific aims
5. Brief proposed methodology
6. Subject population
7. Sample size calculation
